Kyrgyz Riders was founded in 2017 in the village of Kochkor by Aman – a former history teacher and passionate horse-riding enthusiast. What began as a small company offering horseback riding tours to Song-Kol and Kol-Ukok Lakes has grown into a dedicated team of around 15 guides, drivers, and local tour experts.

In the early years, the team consisted of just four people. Today, Kyrgyz Riders has become a trusted travel company offering a wide range of experiences across Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan – from horseback expeditions and trekking tours to road trips through some of Central Asia’s most spectacular landscapes.

Our tours are intentionally small, ranging from 1 to 8 people, so we can travel quietly and respectfully, giving full attention to the land and its people. Whether you join us for an off-road expedition, horseback riding adventure, skiing trip, or backpacking journey, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore, take photos, or simply savor the moment.

The true pride of Kyrgyz Riders is our team of guides. Since day one, Aman has gathered local young men who grew up in the mountains, lived traditional Kyrgyz village life, and understood horses, nature, and nomadic culture from childhood.

Instead of hiring ready-made guides, we prefer to train and educate young locals, sharing our company values and helping them grow professionally. We even support our guides in purchasing vehicles for road trips, giving them the tools, they need to succeed.

Thanks to their unique background, our guides can confidently switch from rugged off-road driving to challenging horseback riding and demanding mountain trekking – a rare combination that makes them truly exceptional in the landscapes of Kyrgyzstan.
