Kilemche Pasture

Kilemche Pasture (Kilemche Jailoo), located in the mountains between Kochkor and Song-Kol Lake, is one of Kyrgyzstan’s most picturesque alpine meadows. Its name, “Kilemche,” means “like a carpet,” referring to the way the pasture becomes covered with colorful wildflowers in summer, like an intricately woven Kyrgyz carpet spread across the hills.

Surrounded by smooth, rolling mountains and distant high peaks, Kilemche is a peaceful destination where travelers can experience authentic nomadic life. During the warm months, local shepherds set up yurts across the valley, welcoming visitors with traditional meals, warm hospitality, and opportunities to learn about Kyrgyz culture.

The pasture is a popular stop on multi-day treks or horseback routes to Song-Kol, offering gentle trails, wide-open landscapes, and stunning sunsets over the jailoo. The fresh mountain air, grazing animals, and quiet beauty make Kilemche Pasture an ideal place for hiking, horseback riding, and staying in a yurt camp.
