Kyrchyn Gorge

Kyrchyn Gorge, located near the city of Karakol on the northern side of the Teskey Ala-Too range, is one of the most historically and culturally significant valleys in Kyrgyzstan. Wide, green, and surrounded by rolling mountains and spruce forests, Kyrchyn has long served as a traditional pastureland for nomadic herders. In summer, the valley comes alive with yurts, grazing horses, and the timeless rhythm of nomadic life.

Kyrchyn is best known today as the main venue of the World Nomad Games, where traditional sports such as horseback archery, wrestling, and kok-boru are showcased in a grand festival atmosphere. The vast open space of the valley makes it ideal for cultural gatherings, festivals, and large events that celebrate Central Asian heritage.

Visitors to Kyrchyn Gorge can enjoy gentle hiking, horseback riding, picnics along the river, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The peaceful landscape, combined with its strong cultural roots, makes Kyrchyn a place where nature and nomadic tradition meet in perfect harmony.
