Lenin Peak Base Camp (also called Achik-Tash) is the main staging area for climbers attempting Lenin Peak, one of Central Asia’s most iconic mountains at 7,134 meters. Located in the Pamir-Alay range near the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the base camp sits at an elevation of about 3,600 meters, offering stunning views of the surrounding glaciers and rugged peaks.
The camp serves as a hub for mountaineers, trekkers, and adventurers preparing for summit attempts, acclimatization hikes, or glacier training. Visitors can see climbers from around the world, experience high-altitude mountain life, and explore nearby moraine fields and icefalls. The camp is accessible via a multi-day trek from Sary-Mogol or by jeep along the high mountain roads of the Alai Valley.
Even for those not attempting the summit, Lenin Peak Base Camp offers breathtaking scenery, dramatic mountain landscapes, and a firsthand look at one of Kyrgyzstan’s most legendary peaks.
