Ysyk-Kol Lake is one of Kyrgyzstan’s most famous landmarks – a vast, shimmering alpine lake surrounded by mountains. Despite being set at 1,600 meters above sea level, it never freezes in winter, which is why its name means “Warm Lake.” It’s also one of the largest and deepest lakes in the world.

The lake is framed by two majestic mountain ranges: the snowcapped Teskey Ala-Too to the south and the Kyungey Ala-Too to the north. Its water is clear and slightly salty, giving it a striking blue color that changes with the light.
